Nature Patchwork: Connecting Nature, Connecting People
Launch event at Sydni Centre on Sat 8th March

Nature Patchwork is a new Warwick District Council initiative designed to inspire and connect people to help nature by creating wildlife habitats in their gardens and community spaces.   By connecting our different patches, we help wildlife to thrive, finding food, shelter, and safe places to raise their young.   At the same time, we bring people closer to nature and while your patch might be small, it’s part of a larger patchwork that can make a real difference.

Come along to Leamington’s Nature Patchwork launch event on Saturday 8 March 2025 at The Sydni Centre to learn more.   Entry is free!    Experts will be on hand with advice on creating habitats for our local wildlife, as well as 20-minute talks by local specialists.  For more information please go to:  WDS Nature Patchwork
Work For Us

We have a vacancy for a Shop Manager at the Re-Useful Centre which will  soon be extending hours to open 7 days a week.    Please see the Work for Us page for more details

Gardening volunteers
We are soon to be starting a new project of 'guerilla gardening' supported by Warwick District Council to bring some joy to unloved sites around the area.     We would welcome volunteers with a bit of gardening knowledge to help the General Manager in leading this initiative.
Please see our Volunteering page on how to apply

We are also looking for shop volunteers, particularly in the following areas:
Clothes sorting, Till work and Electrical PAT testing.

Volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers.   Whether you want to be involved with donation sorting, till work, electrical PAT testing or bike repairs, there is something for everyone in our community.  There is also a new guerrilla gardening project that you could be involved with.

Please see our Volunteering page for more details

Sherbourne Recycling Centre, Coventry

Louise (General Manager) and Nikki (volunteer) had a tour around a new centre which is now processing all our kerbside recycling.

Sherbourne Recycling Ltd is an innovative joint partnership of eight local authorities in Warwickshire and the West Midlands to process dry mixed residential kerbside recycling in the most sustainable and efficient way possible.

Sustainability values:
  • Nothing is sent overseas. Once sorted, the materials are redistributed to UK companies to be processed for re-use.
  • 100% of the energy used is renewable, coming from photovoltaic cells and the neighbouring Energy from Waste (EfW) plant.

Wednesday, March 9, 2022

Action 21 will be donating 100% of all the income raised at the Re-Useful Centre on Friday and Saturday 11/12 March to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

More than a million people have fled their homes to escape conflict in Ukraine. Leaving behind jobs, belongings and loved ones, they now face an uncertain future.

Please come and spend as much as possible at the Re-Useful Centre on Friday and Saturday as the entire income from everything purchased over the two days will be given to the appeal.

DEC charities are in Ukraine and neighbouring countries meeting the needs of all refugees and displaced people and we hope that our money will help them to provide essential hygiene supplies, blankets and emergency food.
